Theme teams

Theme teams are committees of the board which are responsible for developing, reviewing and delivering the strategic aims and objectives for a particular theme. Back on the Map has five themes, employment, housing and environment, education, community safety and health.

Each theme team has up to 12 voting members (six agencies and six residents) and is chaired by an elected resident board member. They meet at least six times a year.

The theme teams' responsibilities are:

  • to develop strategies for each of the themes;
  • to review how effective these strategies are and monitor how they contribute to delivering the overall programme;
  • to comment on funding applications for that theme;
  • to review monitoring reports
  • through the chair, to update the management board on progress and performance;
  • to make recommendations about projects that will inform the board's decisions on project funding applications.
